Data Transfer

Data Transfer

Before any work can be printed, any envelopes enclosed or any mail dispatched there needs to be data to initiate the whole process. But the transfer process isn’t always as simple as it sounds.

In years gone by customers have sent data in the mail or using a courier but what if it gets intercepted or stolen? And what happens to the media after production has completed?  These are all concerns we have addressed with both customers and prospective customers.

It’s important to work with customers at the due diligence phase to understand what requirements they have from a security perspective for data in transit and incorporate those into the design for the recovery services.

All of these factors need to be taken into consideration before you determine how best to transfer your data but, no matter how you choose to transfer data, we’re able to support you.

How We Can Help You

We can receive data digitally and support a wide variety of different protocols. We also support many different types of encrypted data and have a wide range of file decryption tools.

Digital Transfers

We have an SFTP server, Connect Direct server, Customer owned servers in place which can be authenticated against using secure keys, allowing customers to send us data at their convenience. We can also take data from customer servers using most protocols and formats as required.

We store all data transferred digitally on our servers and delete it upon receiving confirmation from the customer that it is no longer required.  All data CMCS receive has file and disk encryption and all files are electronically destroyed using industry standard delete functionally.

Document Management

Data is required before any work can be printed or enclosed, but even once data is obtained it may be many steps away from being usable. Our document management tools allow us to process and manipulate your data, regardless of its format, and our document composition tools allow us to create documents from your raw data.

We have the capacity to handle the following print-ready data formats and directly work with them or convert them to other formats as required.

  • ASCII
  • AFP
  • IPDS
  • Metacode
  • PCL
  • PDF
  • Postcript
  • PPML

Our inhouse software development team can add value to your documents with bespoke solutions tailored to your requirements or compose documents from raw data to your exact specifications.
